Covid-19 Update: 2nd November 2021

Can you believe that it’s November already?!

We just thought we would touch base to give you a quick update following yesterday’s announcement. The NZ Government stated that they have made an in-principal decision to move Auckland to Level 3 – Step 2 from Tuesday 9th November at 11.59pm.

Originally when the Level 3 steps where introduced it was mentioned that Pools were able to open at the Step 2, however after yesterday’s announcement this is not the case and indoor pools will still remain closed at this time.

Currently our Dean Greenwood Swim School team are developing a plan on how we can provide the safest environment for all of our customers and staff once we are able to reopen. We have already undergone a risk assessment, had discussions with other swim schools around the country and reviewed existing procedures. We are now in the process of consulting with all our staff on what ideas, suggestions and feedback they have to contribute to ensuring we have a safe environment at all of our unique facilities.

Once we have more information from the NZ Government about the new protection framework and what that means for our Swim School, we will confirm our plan, procedures and guidelines which we will be sharing this with you as soon as we can.

What is happening for bookings in November?
  • For the time being we have cancelled all classes in September, October & November, until such time we are able to reopen. Don’t worry your day and time is reserved and will resume as normal as soon as we can.

  • Any regular booked classes will be shown as cancelled on the portal and you will not be charged for these classes.

  • Once we are able to reopen we will notify you as soon as possible and what this means for your bookings.

  • Any credits from August have already been applied to your account and will be applied to any future fees.

What if I am on Automatic Payment?
  • If you are currently on Automatic Payment, we have paused all future payments until we are able to resume. This means you will not be charged for September, October or November until we have an opening date. Any accumulated credits would then we applied first before any payment is due.

  • Once we are able to confirm a reopening date we will advise you when payments will be deducted, providing at least 48 hours notice.

What will happen to make up lessons?
  • All make-ups currently in the system will have an extension added onto the expiry date that matches the length of a lockdown where DGSS cannot operate. This will only show on your portal once we have a reopen date.

Remember to stay safe and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us via email.

What happens at Level 2?

  • Once the NZ Government has confirmed that we will be moving to level 2 we will be in contact with you about a reopening date. We may be closed for the first few days of level 2 so that we can provide our staff with onsite training and prepare our sites to meet level 2 guidelines.

  • Prior to reopening we will send out our Customers Guidelines and Policies as well as a short informative video about what to expect when coming to our pools.

We hope that level 2 is only a few weeks away and we get to see you all back soon!
