Snorkelling is a fun activity to learn and to practice for when you're on holiday! This is a structured, progressive programme which starts by getting the children used to the masks and gradually introduces the snorkel and fins throughout the week. We cover important things such as how the mask should fit, how to breathe through the snorkel, what hand signals mean, how to kick in fins and how to clear your snorkel after diving under water. This is generally suitable for children who can already swim a little (Advanced Beginner upwards) and are confident going underwater.
Equipment is provided by the swim school but if you have your own you're more than welcome to practice with it.
We place a lot of emphasis on our water safety programme during the school holidays. This is the reason 99% of parents will want their children to attend lessons - to be safer around the water. Throughout the week long course we cover a different topic each day, through a programme designed closely with Coastguard. We cover topics from how to help others in difficulty, how to help yourself, rescue equipment (including improvisations), lifejackets, swimming with clothes on and boat safety. This course is suitable for any age group and try to best match age groups to enable a similar level of understanding as best we can.
