Dean Greenwood has been involved in swimming as a competitor (NZ Representative in Swimming, Surf lifesaving and marathon swimming) and coach for over twenty years.
Since 1989 he has produced Olympians, Commonwealth Games Medalists, World Champs Medalist, World Surf Life-Saving Champs Medalist, World Disabled Games Medalists, ParaOlympic Gold and Silver Medalist, numerous NZ Title and Record Holders and is a former National Event Coach.
Dean Greenwood Swimschool started in 1995 at the Mt Eden Swimming Pool, in central Auckland. The swimschool now operates from Kelston Girls College Pool, Kelston, and New Windsor School Pool, New Windsor. Over the years, the swim school has developed a progressive swimming programme enabling swimmers as young as 6 months to develop up to competitive level, if they wish.
Swim school pathways progress through from parent-child classes to pre-school, beginner, advanced-beginner, breather, advanced-breather, advanced, stroke classes, mini squads and either non-competitive swimming groups or competitive swimming teams.
The swimschool has been working with schools for the last ten years and in that time
has developed a comprehensive aquatic program that pupils do find challenging, exciting and fun.
We understand that Schools are required to work towards the general aims of the education curriculum and our programs have been developed to incorporate as much of the curriculum as possible.
The Dean Greenwood Swimschool is a division of Greenwoods Aquatic Enterprises Ltd which also provides pool management services at a number of locations in Auckland. These services include, full water treatment and staff training and management.
