About Our Coaches
Our team of coaches are selected for their experience and knowledge of what is required to help the athletes perform at the highest level in their chosen sport. And will use this knowledge to prescribe the best possible program for the athlete, working closely with them to develop their fitness and swimming ability. Read more about our team of coaches below:
I have been a swimming coach for 18 years and am passionate about Laser Mt. Eden Swim Club. I have grown the club to be consistently in the top 5 New Zealand clubs.
In my time coaching I have had swimmers represent New Zealand at Youth Olympics, World Junior Champs, Oceania Champs and the Olympics.
I also hold Swimming New Zealand Silver Licence Coaches qualification.
Don joined the coaching team in 2013 after returning from a successful and extended coaching stint in New Caledonia, and yes he is fluent in French.
Don's experience in developing young swimmers is extensive and he had already made his mark with his team at the Kelston pool.
His programme takes swimmers from the learn to swim system and progresses them through the introductory stages of competitive swimming.
"One of the exciting things about our programme is that we also get to work with athletes involved in all aquatic sports including surf lifesaving, waterpolo and triathlon. We can really help them develop their swimming skills to be competitive in their particular sports”
