Introducing… Mt. Eden Mondays!
Updated 14th April 2021
|The maintenance work on Mt Eden Swimming Pool has already begun! We have also finally received the Myrtha Product from Italy, which is what our pool is going to be lined with and give it's new fresh look and feel.
We are still expecting to be open late May early June, exact date is yet to be confirmed.
We will be in contact with all of our previous learn to swim customers about returning and booking in within the next two weeks, keep an eye out for our return special prices too!
We are excited to announce that the expect reopening date will be in around May/June 2021.
Back in November 2020 contractors and resources had been confirmed for the pool repairs to take place in early 2021. One of the reasons that there has been a delay in reopening is due to the fact the resource materials had been ordered from Italy and are expected to arrive on a shipping container within 3-4months. Due to Covid-19 there have been some delay with delivery times which is why the start date has been pushed back to May.
We can confirm that we are expected to have the initial repairs and maintenance of the pool carried out from 15th March. Once we receive the product from Italy this will take about 6-8weeks to install and complete the refit.
The product Myrtha that is being installed will mean that the pool will have a brand new looking face and feel. Myrtha is a leading product internationally and has been used in many pools around New Zealand.
We will be in touch with our loyal and returning customers with more information in the week leading up to the reopen.
If you have more questions, please feel to contact the Mt Eden Team at 09 630 112 or email@example.com
Thank you for your patience and understanding while we have been working with Mt Eden Swimming Pool Trust Board (Building Owners) to complete an extensive investigation of our pool leak issue.
Now that contractors and resources material have been confirmed we are excited to advise that the pool is likely to reopen in April 2021 once the refurbishment work has been carried out.
We apologise for the inconvenience but we will continue to keep you updated with our progress over the coming months and are looking forward to inviting you back to the new and improved Mt Eden Swimming Pool.
Once again thank you for your understanding.
We are currently waiting news from Mt Eden Swimming Pool Trust about what project work will be taking place to repair the pool. We hope to have more answers about a reopening date within the next few weeks.
At this stage the pool is closed and will likely reopen early next year.
Today we had the crew out from Southern Geophysical, who flew all the way up from Christchurch to use their ground penetrating radar systems to scan and detect any concrete and structural issues within the pool.
We are looking forward to seeing the report in the next coming week and are thankful that we have made it one step closer to finding out more information about exactly what we will need to do solve the problem.
In terms of timeframe we suspect at this stage that Mt Eden will continue to be closed for another 4-5months.
We will keep you updated as more information comes to light.
Thank you for your patience and understanding while we have been investigating our maintenance issue at Mt Eden Swimming Pool.
We initially identified this as a pool leak and after further investigation and remedial work the true extent of the problem is worse than we initially anticipated.
We have been working with Mt Eden Swimming Pool Trust Board (Building Owners) to come up with a plan and find a suitable solution to get the pool opening as soon as possible.
We now have reason to believe that the pool still requires further investigation and will require major repairs. This means that we could potentially have a brand new looking pool at the end of this process.
Unfortunately we now expect the pool to remain closed for the next 4-5 months.
The facility will continue to remain open for Gym Members at the following times:
We apologise for the inconvenience, and we will continue to keep you updated with our progress over the coming months.
