Don club coach

Don McKenna
Senior Squad Coach At Kelston

Don joined the coaching team in 2013 after returning from a successful and extended coaching stint in New Caledonia, and yes he is fluent in French.

Don's experience in developing young swimmers is extensive and he had already made his mark with his team at the Kelston pool.

His programme takes swimmers from the learn to swim system and progresses them through the introductory stages of competitive swimming.

"One of the exciting things about our programme is that we also get to work with athletes involved in all aquatic sports including surf lifesaving, waterpolo and triathlon. We can really help them develop their swimming skills to be competitive in their particular sports”

Britt Wichstrom
Junior Squad Coach At Kelston

Britt has been involved in teaching learn to swim and coaching competitive swimmers for over 5years. She moved back to DGSS in 2021 to take over the Junior Squad Coaching role.

Britt's passion for swimming was ignited by seeing her children in swimming lessons and joining an adult fitness squad.

She has created a positive team culture where swimmers are engaged and are successfully working towards achieving their goals. Her program has a strong focus on technique and building national competition level.

In Britt's spare time, she enjoys watching swimming events and spending time relaxing with her family.
